Summary:
This tutorial outlines the new Local Plan panel in Data Studio that currently includes for both emerging and adopted Settlement Boundaries; some 10,000 of them - a MASSIVE task.
The Local Plan panel is available as an add-on to your subscription of £10 monthly or £109 annually + VAT - if you don't need it you don't pay for it! Initially we were planning to provide Settlement Boundaries as a separate add-on however, in our continual commitment to value for money we have decided to include many other data layers within this price point such as SHLAA, adopted housing, mixed-use and employment allocations as well as TPO's.
Activating Settlement Boundaries
Step 1: go to administration
- Select "Account and payments";
- Select "Subscription";
- Select the Local Plan add-on.
Step 2: accessing Settlement Boundaries
- Go to Data Studio;
- Select the Local Plan panel located immediately under the Housing Delivery Test panel on the LHS toolbar;
- Select Adopted or Emerging or both from the Local Plan window to render onto the map.
Why use Settlement Boundaries?
A settlements Settlement Boundary is included within the relevant Local Authorities draft or adopted Local Plan and indicate where expansion of the settlement will take place into the future - they are relevant to development and what is permissible where.
