Summary:

This tutorial introduces recent enhancements to BOOM!’s land title rendering, optimised for both rural and urban contexts. Learn how zoom levels now adapt to the size of land titles, ensuring ease of use and improved context for analysis. Discover how these updates streamline your workflow in Data Studio.

Understanding Land Title Rendering Enhancements

What’s New:
  • Rural Titles: Larger land titles render at higher zoom-out levels, allowing you to see their geography and context without excessive zoomingn;

  • Urban Titles: Smaller land titles continue to appear as you zoom-in, providing detailed visualisation of densely packed areas.

How to Use the Updated Rendering in BOOM!

Step 1: Setting Up the Map

  1. Choose a location with a mix of rural and urban areas, such as Deal in Kent;

  2. Activate the Land Titles panel on the left toolbar;

  3. Apply filters to focus on relevant ownership types:

    1. Deselect Unregistered, Leasehold, and Rent Charge;

    2. Use Visualise by Class of Title for better differentiation (e.g., Freehold titles appear in teal).

Step 2: Adjusting Zoom Levels

  1. Start by zooming-out to see larger rural land titles;

  2. As you zoom-in, land titles progressively appear, ensuring a clear view without overwhelming the map.

  3. Note that smaller titles will disappear as you zoom-out, optimising map clarity.

Step 3: Navigating Common Scenarios

  • Rural Areas: Larger titles render first, helping you understand the land’s overall geography;

  • Urban Areas: Zoom-in to see smaller parcels while maintaining context within settlement boundaries.

Why These Enhancements Matter:

  1. Efficiency: Quickly identify relevant titles without unnecessary zooming or panning;

  2. Clarity: Optimised rendering reduces visual clutter, especially in densely packed urban areas;

  3. Contextual Understanding: Visualise land title boundaries in relation to their surroundings, whether rural or urban.

The same data, a fraction of the price

Searchland, LandTech and Nimbus charge an average of £3,540 a year. BOOM! is £540 a year with every add-on included, or £216 for the sourcing data on its own — the £20 a month plan, billed annually.

That is £3,000 a year back into your next deal.

We can charge less because we cost less to run: a small team, no sales force, and no venture capital demanding a price rise every year. The platform is also only part of what we do — the others sell a sourcing platform and nothing else.
